Public stream access is an important part of my life, and profession, so I couldn’t be more pleased to see these images accompany such an important part of our industry and heritage. I urge anyone that is concerned about public lands and public stream access to please get involved. If its not BHA, get involved in a local organization that is working towards a common sense compromise. Our future generations will thank you!
Check out the BHA link for detailed information on each region of the US. Its worth the read. Its also free, so download it, read it and pass it along.
The Fly Fisherman Magazine 2017 Gear Guide has recently hit the newsstands! I’m happy to see that an image from our Alaskan shoot last year made the cover. This image of angler Camille Egdorf was taken in while on location shooting for Yellow Dog Fly Fishing Adventures. We were searching for the elusive Sea Run Rainbow Trout with Rick Matney when she hooked into this gem. It was a great trip with great friends. I hope to one day see to the temperate rainforest of the great white north again, it really is the last of the salmon (and steelhead) forests.
Head down to your local shop and grab a copy, or better yet, get a yearly subscription and never miss an issue.
I am very pleased to see this image on the cover of the 2016 issue of the Steelheaders Journal. It’s always nice to see your hard work in print and its even nice’r to see your work on the cover. I couldn’t be more happy. This image is of Rick Mantey releasing a chrome steelhead back into the native waters of Alaska.

The new summer issue of the Drake Magazine is hot off the press! I am beyond thrilled to see this image of Doug McKnight releasing a permit on the cover. This is just one of three permit that Doug caught that morning on his “danger muffin” crab pattern, which The Drake Mag showcased in its winter issue.
This issue is not too be missed, it’s jam packed with abundant creative content, so be sure to head down to your local shop and grab a copy — or download it to your tablet and take it with you wherever you go.
The new 2016 summer issue of the Flyfishing & Tying Journal magazine just hit the newsstands. I am very happy to see that Brad and I landed the cover.
This image is of Brad Miller when he was guiding at TroutHunter Lodge guide in Idaho. Brad and a few others took advantage of a rare day off so the crew hitched up the boats headed to the lower Henry’s Fork river. It was a great day of fishing with stoneflies and streamers for brown trout. Over the years Brad has helped me create many great images: Ozzie the Osprey, a rare mountain orchid bloom, been a stunt caster for a few of my commercial shoots and of course there is the fishing. Big thanks for all the help over the years my friend.
FLYFISHING & TYING JOURNAL | SPRING 2015 COVER Spring 2016issue | Las Pampas, Argentina
The 2016 spring issue of the Flyfishing & Tying Journal hit the newsstands last week. I am very happy to see one of my images landed on the cover! The cover image is of Las Pampas guide Nico Alvarez and client Dave Abbot fishing the Rio Corcovado in Argentina.
The winter time is one of my favorite times to fish. The fishing is good and many of my guide friends have some time off. During the busy summers I rarely get a chance to fish with my friends as they are working around the clock trying to get the most of out of a limited guide season. So winter is often a time when I am able to go fishing with my friends. I linked up with my friend Pat Gaffney, we had a great day of catching up and catching fish and we managed to make a few photos too. Here Pat is getting ready to release a healthy Henry’s Fork rainbow back into the winter river.
