The trade show season is underway! If you’re at the 2014 Outdoor Retailer Winter Show in Salt Lake City, be sure to swing by the Patagonia booth. I’m thrilled to have a wall hanger in the booth this year.

The new 2014 Women’s fly fishing line-up is currently being launched. While you’re wandering the showroom floor take a stroll over and check it out. Lots of research, testing, round tables, feedback, and effort went into this project and in constructing the entire new line-up. Patagonia works with some of the best women in the business, ones who get it done day in and day out. Together they have designed a new women’s line that is made by women for women. Yes, it’s backed by the company’s longtime standard, the Iron Clad Guarantee. It’s also made with forethought by using materials and technology that are environmentally responsible and sustainable, something every outdoor company should strive for and every outdoor enthusiast should insist.

PATAGONIA | FILM WORK

Last summer I had the opportunity to do some film and photo work for Patagonia. Nothing fancy, capture b-roll and shoot still images. You never know what will get used, so it’s always a pleasant surprise to see the final production. It’s great to live those moments again. It was a great chance to work with so many great people, some long time friends, and somehow ones.

Patagonia Books Footage | Yvon Chouinard and Maru Mazzo

I was able to help capture footage for Yvon Chouinard and Maru Mazzo for their upcoming new book, Simple Fly Fishing Techniques for Tenkara and Rod & Reel for A tidbit of the footage used. It was great to spend the day with Yvon and Maru. I enjoy every opportunity I get to spend time YC. It’s inspiring to me talk to a person who does what he says and lives what he leads: A dirtbag in every sense of the word.

Patagonia Women’s Waders | Millie Paini

New women’s Patagonia waders are now available. I’m very happy to able to work with Millie Paini throughout the year. It’s really cool to see a company support woman’s anglers. The new folks might not remember but a long time ago, Millie was the poster woman for Patagonia women’s waders. A decade later, she still here, still fishing hard and still making products better for women. The “drop-down” has been in talks for many years mainly due to techniques used when fishing with men out of drift boats and flats boats, etc. I was excited to be able to work with film-maker Travis Lowe for Millie’s segment on the Henry’s Fork. The new 2014 Women’s waders line up is made by angling women for angling women.

2014 ANGLERS ANNUAL | HATCH OUTDOORS CATALOG

Coffee tables and guide bathrooms across the world are rejoicing!! The always highly anticipated Hatch Outdoors Anglers Annual is finally out! The new 2014 Hatch Outdoors catalog was just printed and being shipped to a shop near you and available on their website.

I’m exceptionally fortunate to be able to work with the imaginary guys at Hatch for the last 4 years. They’ve been very supportive of my journey and me. That support has helped immeasurably along the way. I’m pleased and humbled to have my image land on their new 2014 catalog cover this year!

Other notable catalog work is a featured article and other catalog images. Destinations included: Pacific Northwest, Yucatan and Argentina. Many thanks to all those anglers, lodges and staff, friends, editors and the many, many persons who helped make this possible. Without you, this reality would only have been a dream.

I’m looking forward to the upcoming year with Hatch and all the adventures that go along with it! New projects are already in the works and logistics are getting the last of the kinks worked out.
