New commercial work for 2021, Hatch Iconic Reel. It’s always a pleasure working with our longtime friends at Hatch Outdoors. We headed out the door this past winter with blue skies and turquoise water on our minds. Little did we know we would be working during the tail end and reminiscence of a CAT4 hurricane. Like all good adventures, nothing comes easy. A big thanks to the hard-working folks at Belize permit Club for making this happen.

Whether a participant is an advanced shooter or someone who is new to photography, this is a curriculum that provides the opportunity for shooters to “up their game” by delivering the tips and tools necessary to create great images. Each participant has the help of an instructor with almost every shot, creating a solid educational experience for all levels.

Our buddy Wil Flack at the Belize Permit Club called. He wanted to update some marketing content for his new lodge, and we happily obliged. Team member Will Phelps headed down to the tropics with a few Pelican cases and dreams of capturing permit. He returned to Montana with smiles and hard drives.
Belize Permit Club is located in a remote area of Hopkins and is home to world-class fly fishing for permit. Wil and his team have created a new lodge for small groups of permit-hungry anglers in the heart of Belize. BPC has comfortable accommodations within walking distance to the boat. Great fishing and food and fantastic guides — we can’t wait to get back.
TWO GRAND SLAMS IN TWO DAYS Bonefish + Permit + Tarpon x 2
BGP member Will Phelps put together a quick personal edit while on a content gathering assignment in Belize.
It’s not unheard of, but two grand slams in two days is a rarity! “We never expected it to be this good. On the last two days of our trip to Belize, it all came together. The calm and sunny conditions were perfect for flats fishing. Thanks to our incredible guides, Lincoln Westby and Marvin Leslie, two grand slams were boated. Luck was on our side, and angler Damien Nurre got it done”.
Check out the edit.

FLY FISHING PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS 2017 FISH . PHOTO . TRAVEL Belize, Idaho, Cuba
Join Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures for a hands-on, adventure-filled outdoor and fishing photography workshop in 2017. We have a great line-up of instructors this year, making it a great opportunity to travel with us to Belize, Idaho or Cuba! This immersive workshop will be led by our highly accomplished team of adventure angling photographers. The school includes daily classes, in-the-field instruction, field trips, and all lodging and meals!
The idea for the Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures on-the-water photo workshop was to create a hands on workshop that is taught by working professionals who specialize in adventure angling. We constructed a learning experience built around real time scenarios. Let’s face it: the light is rarely perfect when you finally catch the fish of a lifetime or finally take that once in a lifetime trip. Everyone wants to come home with those special moments. With this in mind, we created a curriculum that provides you with the necessary tools to create great images! The detailed instructional lesson plan is directly applied from the classroom into the field. Each participant has the help of an instructor with almost every shot. It’s a great educational experience for all levels.

PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP || FISH, PHOTO & TRAVEL El Pescador, Belize
This past October we launched the Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures Photo Workshop series. This program focuses on fishing, travel, and photography. For our first stop, we chose Belize as it’s an easy location to gets to, has amazing scenery with a variety of opportunities to photograph. We teamed up with the folks at El Pescador Lodge, who took great care of our large group. We held daily presentations with cold beers and great tasting local finger food. A jam-packed itinerary followed a very detailed course curriculum that incorporated fun daily field assignments. It was exciting to see the progression of the participants each day as we toured the towns, snorkeled in the reserve and fished the famed Savannah flats. The weather was dramatic at times and only a few of us somehow dodged the down poor. All in all, it was a great experience and a huge success. This is the first of many and I am looking forward to the upcoming 2017 lineup.

A few new Hatch Outdoors Ads have been surfacing this spring season, its always great to see the fruits of our labor seeing the light of day.
These images always take a team effort, these two here were helped created with global guide Gabriel Gygax in Xcalak Mexico in the first photo and Tom Melvin of Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures in Caye Caulker Belize in the second image. Big thanks to all the anglers, manufacture, lodges, staff, guides, logistics agents, etc, who helped with the process, these images wouldn’t be created without your help and continued support. + Hatch Outdoors: http://www.hatchoutdoors.com/

I’m always very excited to see images on on actual paper. There’s no substitute for holding a magazine and turning the pages. I’m thrilled to see these images made it to the final cut. They bring back such great memories. A big thanks to those that help make these images possible – anglers, sponsors and lodges – without you these images wouldn’t be possible.
