The 2021 Expeditions & Guides Annual of Gray’s Sporting Journal is now available. I am thrilled to have a photo essay in this issue.
This essay is a series of images taken in the Yucatan. I’ve traveled around Yucatan Mexico with a camera and a fly rod for many years. More often than not it’s with my good friend Shaun Lawson. Over the years we’ve had quite the adventures. Good fishing, bad fishing, good weather, bad weather, and a few blown-out flip-flops – it’s always quite the adventure to find a size “grande gringo”. We’ve had some camera mishaps, a few parasite issues, a lot of tacos, and met a lot of incredible people. Every trip was always a great trip, the fishing was just a bonus.
Big thanks to all guides for working hard to help us get into fish and of course, help with getting the images. It’s a team effort.
This issue is packed with great articles and some impressive photo essays, it’s not one to be missed.

A few new Hatch Outdoors Ads have been surfacing this summer season, I’m happy to see that we landed one of them! I say this all the time, but its true, its always nice to actually hold the fruits of our labor in print.
Getting great images in the field always take a team effort, always. This image was from a trip with Shaun lawson of Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures. We were at Miminiska Lodge in Ontario. On this day we were in the lake fishing for pike and walleye. Big thanks to all the anglers, manufactures, lodges, staff, guides, logistics agents, etc, who helped with the process, these images wouldn’t be created without your help and continued support.

USA Made, Globally Fished
NORTHWEST TERRITORIES, YUKON & ONTARIO BOUND On Assignment: Part I
My bags are packed, Global Rescueand SAT phone in tow and I am heading out the door for a few weeks. I was thrilled to get the call to head to the Great White North accompanying Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventuresprogram director Shaun Lawson. Shaun and I will be headed to several remote locations over the course of the next few weeks, including the Arctic Circle. We will be targeting char, lake trout, brookies, pike and maybe a few other fin’d species. This is the first leg of my Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures summer tour. There are a numerous locations lined for up for the next few months, stay tuned!

The crew over at Hatch Outdoors has revamped their website. It’s full of new photos, new products and their top-notch standard of sleek machining and bomber-engineering that Hatch is known for. Their new site is LIVE! It’s great to see a handful of my images made the cut and relive those memories once again.

I had the opportunity to spend a few days making imagery for the Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures crew in Washington a few weeks ago. This trip Shaun lawson and I tagged along for Troy and Dec’s Spey class. I learned a lot, actually wish I’d had this instruction years ago!
