DAS BOAT, SEASON 2 | MEATEATER

DAS BOAT, SEASON 2
Introducing MeatEater’s First Original Fishing Series

We couldn’t be more thrilled to be apart of the Off The Grid Studios team that produced the second season of Das Boat for MeatEater, Inc. This project was nothing short of an incredible adventure with an incredible challenge, not to mention the remarkable crew. There were so many people that helped make this series run smoothly, you all know who you are, thank you!

“Last year we jumped into the deep end with MeatEater on a creative endeavor to produce 6 episodes of a show called Das Boat within a considerably tight turnaround timeline. We pushed our team and delivered a respectable season. You can watch it online on MeatEeater’s Youtube channel.

Roughly 9 months ago, we engaged “the team” in the production & collaborative creation of Season II, with sufficient time to exceed our previous season’s show in every way imaginable.

3 months into logistical planning – all of our efforts were confounded by a global catastrophe. Presented with a crossroads, we were left with two options:

Crumble under the weight of uncertainty, the unknown and unsurmountable challenges, and bail … or get the team on the open road, overcome and just kick ass.

We decided on the latter.

Without further adieu, Season 2, Episode 1 is available now on the MeatEater YouTube channel. Check out Das Boat Season II. New episodes premiere every Sunday. We sincerely hope you enjoy the pride of our blood, sweat, and tears during this challenging year.”

NEXGEN | FULL-LENGTH FEATURE NOW AVAILABLE ON AMAZON

NEXGEN, MOVIE
Off the Grid Studios

Off the Grid Studios is pleased to announce the release of the full-length cut of their film “NEXGEN.” Available now on Amazon channel

In “NexGen,” filmmaker RA Beattie tells the story of generational bonds and friendships formed through fly fishing. In the film, Beattie offers a new perspective, as the film is told from the point of view and with the narration of Jack Buccola — a 12-year-old angler from Bend, Oregon. The film follows Jack as he experiences living in a fly fisherman’s house, witnesses the impact of fires on his home waters, and explores new waters on a road trip with his father Ryan, friend Judd Field, and Judd’s father Pete. Throughout the journey, Jack grows to appreciate the steelhead of the Northwest, the native cutthroat trout found on the South Fork of the Snake River and other tributaries, and Jack also realizes the potential for more travel with a tying business.

“NexGen” was directed, edited, and produced by RA Beattie, produced and filmed by Bryan Gregson, written by Sarah Grigg and Tim Harden, filmed and edited by Will Phelps, and audio engineered by Troy Hermes, with still photography from Arian Stevens. Marko Milosevic contributed the graphics.

This project was a tremendous amount of work but was equally gratifying. It would not be possible without the teamwork from such an outstanding group of dedicated people. With support from the Orvis Company, Scientific Anglers, and WorldCast Anglers, the latest from Off the Grid Studios premiered on the 2019 Fly Fishing Film Tour. Thank you all for lending your dedication, creativity, and passion. Here’s to the next round!

DAS BOAT – NEW SERIES FROM THE MEATEATER FISHING DEPT.

DAS BOAT, SERIES
Introducing MeatEater’s First Original Fishing Series

We couldn’t be more thrilled to be apart of the Off The Grid Studios team that produced the new fishing series for MeatEater, Inc. It was a few months of long field days, brutal heat, insane humidity, overheating batteries, a few police officers (love you guys), angry non-Florida country club locals, biting bugs, sleepless nights, boiled peanuts, great memories, wonderful people, breathtaking views, wild nature, and interesting characters.

This project was nothing short of an incredible adventure with a remarkable crew. There were so many people that helped make this series run smoothly, you all know who you are. Thank you!

One boat, five fisheries, ten anglers, 2500 miles…unlimited bad ideas. In this new series, Das Boat, MeatEater revives an old aluminum boat from a backyard in Texas and explores angling opportunities with some of our favorite folks. The first episode of Das Boat aired on August 15th on YouTube and Facebook. New episodes come out every Thursday. Yes, it’s FREE!

Off the Grid Studios

Off the Grid Studios is pleased to announce a new film — “NexGen.” With support from the Orvis Company, Scientific Anglers, and WorldCast Anglers, the latest from Off the Grid Studios will premiere on the 2019 Fly Fishing Film Tour.

“Our 2019 production ‘NexGen’ takes viewers along for a ride on a more attainable, grassroots adventure here at home in the American West,” explains Beattie. “I’m very proud of our entire team and excited to bring the young cast, epic eats, and stunning nature scenes to the big screen in theaters around the world.”

“NexGen” will be featured on the 2019 Fly Fishing Film Tour, which begins Jan. 19, 2019, in Bozeman, Montana.

Bryan Gregson: a photographer from another time

I was featured as a photographer, and Tim Harden penned a humbling article to accompany my work — a surprise indeed. Big thanks for all the support from Paris at TIF and Tim Harden at Coast Fly Media. Although I’d prefer to stay out of the limelight, I couldn’t be more humbled and thankful for this opportunity.

Head on over to This Is Fly, and check out this article along with many other great articles and photos.
