COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY | PURE FISHING / FENWICK Yosemite National Park
My team and I had the opportunity to shoot a series of brand catalogs for Pure Fishing for their 2017 collection. We headed to Yosemite, established a mobile basecamp and then spent a week in this iconic landscape of granite, truly something everyone should see.
Big thanks to my great production team: Sarah Grigg, Producer; Sean Kerrick Sullivan, Lighting/editing assistant; Rick Mazaira and Keith Munemitsu, Logistics/wardrobe. Hats off to the entire Pure Fishing team: T.J. Dennis, Jon Malovich, Hugh Hutson and all the anglers and models. Special thanks to Ranger Cat at Yosemite National Park. We couldn’t have done this without your daily guidance.
SPEY/SWITCH FLY LINE BOX COVERS two-handed series + underwater fish
Airflo debuted their newly updated fly line box covers this past July at the 2016 IFTD/ICAST trade show held in Orlando, Florida. I was delighted at the oportunity to be a small part of Airflo’s marketing facelift with a few images for the Two-Handed Series product line, I think they came out great.
Do you have a product that needs imagery? Don’t hesitate to reach out. I have an extensive library of global images to choose from or let my team and I help you create a unique impactful look for your next project.
Every photographer knows the feeling of seeing their work printed. So as you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was to see this when I walked around the corner at the trade show. It was great see this shot spread of Matt McCannel make it to the big printer. We created this photo last year in Colorado with the Sage FlyFish team, seems like it was just yesterday.
Last year the crew set out to create a few new media campaigns for SAGE Flyfishing with both still images and motion for their new rod line-up. The fruits of our labor have started to trickle out from the SAGE Flyfish Camp this year. A few of the Ads went live this spring and I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.
I really enjoyed this project, it was never a dull moment! Hat’s off to the production crew who made this happen: Drew Stoecklein, Bobby Foster, Catie Webster, Mark Raisler, Headhunters Fly Shop and all the great folks at Sage Flyfish.
The new 2016 Hatch Angler’s Annual is hot off the press and is looking better than ever. A huge thanks to all those that help make these images possible: friends, family, fellow photogs, guides, anglers, staff, transfer agents, translators, editors, pilots and taxi cab drivers. It really does take a great team to create great imagery and great content.
SAGE FLYFISH | MOD ROD CAMPAIN Henry’s Fork River, Idaho
Last year the crew set out to create a few new ad campaigns for SAGE Flyfishing with both still images and motion for The fruits of our labor has started to trickle out from the SAGE Flyfish Camp this spring. First up is the the MOD Rod. The project went live last month with a video and photo ad campaign. Stay tuned, more to come!
I really enjoyed this project. The Henry’s Fork river is a place I hold near and dear to my heart. The water, the fish, the people, the bugs, the mountains, it has been a place that has helped me get to where I am today. Getting to know more about Jerry, hearing his stories and seeing a personal glimpse into a man we’ve all admired and grown up with was a special experience. It’s not everyday I get to work with the legends of my youth. Hat’s off to the production crew who made this happen: Drew Stoecklein, Bobby Foster, Catie Webster and of course master Jerry Siem and all the great folks at Sage Flyfish who trusted us with this special project.
A new Hatch Outdoors Ad hits print in winter issue of the The FlyFish Journal. This image was created on the pristine flats of Cuba with Tom Melvin and Avalon fishing guide Keinlert… and of course a Hatch 7+ Plus. We got really lucky, and had great fishing for the shoot. And yes, real actual fish were actually caught for the creation of this shoot.
PHOTO BEHIND THE COLOR | NEW PATAGONIA SUNSHADE PATTERN Patagonia mens sunshade 2016
My friend Kim Brannock, a passionate designer working with Patagonia, sent me a note letting me know some of the new gear she has been was working was just released. She mentioned there is one piece I’d be interested in seeing, particularly the color. I was thrilled to see my image helped create a new pattern color for the Patagonia Men’s Sunshade shirts. When she was designing she piece she was browsing through the Patagonia photo archives selecting images for creative ideas. She picked the photo from a big pile of photo selects, and only learned that it was mine later. Random luck! I’m very happy to see my work being used in such a unique and creative way. The bonus part, it’s a piece of gear I practically live in when traveling in the field, and a piece of gear I was using when I took the photo. I couldn’t be more pleased.
A big thank you to the creative unsung hardworking designers who are creating and engineering gear that performs in tough conditions. When I am out on assignments I need to be focused on the shoot and not worried if my gear is going to hold up. So the next time you’re comfortable out when it’s cold or dry when its wet, don’t forget to thank the design team, its a big task!
And that is a wrap! — Behind the scenes images from the Pure Fishing shoot. We had a great time in Yosemite National Park. It was inspiring to be amongst the same landscape that has influenced so many of my own personal heroes. Many thanks to all those who helped make this possible: the outfitter, the anglers, the park staff and a big thanks to Mother Nature!
PATAGONIA WORKBOOK FALL 2016 | PUBLISHED Amazon Jungle, Bolivia
I am very happy to see an image make it to print in the 2016 Patagonia Fall Workbook. Last year I had the opportunity to visit the jungle of Bolivia and photograph and catch golden dorado, it was a life long dream. Although the fishing was amazing, the people and the culture really was inspiring. It was a humbling experience fishing with them.
